SHERBURNE — On the third Saturday of every month, Friends of Rogers hosts “Family Fun” programs designed to provide participants of all ages the opportunity to experience hands-on learning about the natural
environment.

Recent “Family Fun” titles have included Snowy Scenes, Winter Wanderings, Fantastic Forests, “Bed” Time, Ensuring the Future, and Fish Prints.

Create hand-made projects to use as holiday gifts with re-claimed materials during the “Up-Cycled Holiday Crafts” workshop at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Environmental Conservation Center.

Participants will use a combination of new and repurposed supplies to invent beautiful ornaments and decorations.

“Sometimes it can be a challenge to find just the right gift during the holiday season,” said Sarah Freedman, Friends of Rogers environmental educator. “Our December Family Fun program offers the opportunity to create truly one-of-a-kind presents for everyone on your gifting list!”

For 2018, corporate partner M&T Bank has served as official presenting sponsor for ‘Family Fun.’

While the program had been underwritten by several organizations since its inception over five years ago, this year marks the first time that a corporate partner’s financial support sustained an entire year of this fundamental activity, officials said.

“M&T Bank’s generosity to Friends of Rogers and our local communities is truly inspiring,” said Simon Solomon, FOR executive director.

“Their leadership support ensured that Friends of Rogers was able to offer this free community program for the entire year,” Solomon added.

“ We are extremely grateful for M&T Bank’s investment in our mission,” he said.
