Two sent to hospital after truck hits mower

Both men are in stable condition at local hospitals after a pickup truck hit an industrial lawnmower on East Dominick Street Tuesday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials.

Police said the pickup truck was westbound at about 12:48 p.m. when it went off the roadway near Panesi Avenue and crashed into a zero-turn lawnmower in front of Mohawk Valley Materials at 1501 E. Dominick St.

Police said the operator was mowing the lawn in front of the business when the mower was struck by the pickup.

Both the pickup driver and the lawnmower operator were taken to local hospitals, officials said.

Police said both men are in stable condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, authorities said, adding that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

The identities of those involved have not yet been released by the authorities.

Police said no tickets have been issued so far.
