VERONA — Turning Stone Resort Casino is again recognized for its amenities and guest service by Forbes Travel Guide.

Turning Stone earned four of Forbes Travel Guide’s coveted Four-Star Awards for 2021, distinguishing it as the only resort in New York to achieve this accomplishment.

Forbes cites all four of Turning Stone’s Four-Star venues — The Lodge, Wildflowers, TS Steakhouse and Ska:na Spa — as “...exceptional properties that offer high levels of service and quality of facility to match.”

Wildflowers and TS Steakhouse are the only Forbes-rated restaurants in New York State outside of New York City, and Ska:na Spa remains the only Forbes-rated spa in Upstate New York. Only properties that meet Forbes’ standards — the most stringent in the industry, Turning Stone officials said — can achieve a Four Star rating, establishing a global benchmark for luxury travel.

Forbes Travel Guide rates properties in more than 73 different countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East. With only 576 hotels, 136 restaurants, and 200 spas in the world to achieve a Four-Star rating, Turning Stone officials said the property continues to be distinguished as one of the most elite found anywhere around the world.

“We strive to provide exceptional guest service and world-class amenities every day, even throughout this last year when we introduced new safety protocols while still maintaining our high standards,” said Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter. “It’s because of our commitment to impeccable guest service and attention to detail that allowed us to achieve this highest distinction from Forbes Travel Guide during this unprecedented year.”

To determine its Star Award winners, Forbes Travel Guide’s inspectors anonymously visit every property they rate, evaluating each based on more than 900 criteria.

The only independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, and spas, Forbes has been verifying luxury since 1958.

“Our 2021 award winners are a testament to the resiliency of the hospitality industry,” said Filip Boyen, CEO of Forbes Travel Guide. “During an unprecedented time, these top properties adapted to numerous adversities, all while maintaining high service levels and ensuring the health of their guests and staff. We hope these excellent properties will inspire travelers for when they are ready to venture out on their next trip.”

The Lodge is known for its perfection when it comes to pampering guests who visit from around the world, with Forbes describing it as “Upstate New York’s answer to high-end hospitality” with “luxurious with sleek and spacious interiors” and notes that with all-suite accommodations, it’s “a stay that’s a little more like home.”

Led by Turning Stone Executive Chef Ron Ross, a three-time James Beard Award recipient, TS Steakhouse and Wildflowers offer a unique and memorable culinary experience. Forbes describes TS Steakhouse with its breathtaking views and amenities as “one of the best see-and-be-seen places,” and the touches of Oneida Indian and Native American culture throughout the restaurant “adds a touch of authenticity to the high-in-sky culinary experience.”

Considered one of the most renowned restaurants in New York, Forbes describes Wildflowers as “Upstate elegance with seasonal flair.”

Forbes also touts Ska:na peaceful setting as “oozing tranquility from the moment you enter the front doors…to the time you leave.”
