Turning Stone earns 2023 Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Awards
VERONA — Forbes Travel Guide awarded Turning Stone Resort Casino with four 2023 Four-Star Awards for The Lodge, Ska:ná: Spa, TS Steakhouse, and Wildflowers.
“Each venue is recognized for exceptional amenities, unparalleled experience, and personalized guest service, distinguishing Turning Stone as the only resort in New York to earn four Forbes Four-Star Awards,” Oneida Nation Enterprises officials said. “Additionally, Ska:ná: is designated as the only spa in New York outside of New York City to earn a Four- or Five-Star rating, cementing its reputation as one of the leading spas in the country.”
Forbes Travel Guide rates properties in more than 80 different countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East. With only 585 hotels, 113 restaurants, and 195 spas in the world to achieve a Forbes Four-Star Award.
The Lodge is an Adirondack-style all-suite hotel and has been described as “… a resort within a resort,” featuring an a la carte pillow menu, 24-hour concierge and room service, nightly s’mores, and is home to Ska:ná: Spa and Wildflowers.
Ska:ná: Spa has been recognized as one of the leading spas in the country, earning not just the Forbes award, but was also recently named the No. 1 Spa in New York by Spas of America. The first Native American-inspired spa in the Northeast, Ska:ná: recently celebrated its 16th anniversary and continues to redefine the spa experience by introducing new services. Many of these new treatments are rooted in Oneida traditions, including using culturally-significant ingredients like strawberries, white pine, and maple.
TS Steakhouse and Wildflowers are led by Enterprise Executive Chef Ron Ross, TS Steakhouse Chef de Cuisine Ray Wells, and Wildflowers Chef de Cuisine Joseph Kolo. From masterfully-prepared menu options to breathtaking tableside presentations and exquisite views, TS Steakhouse and Wildflowers are among Turning Stone’s elite dining experiences.
Turning Stone’s world-class properties have earned the coveted Forbes Four-Star Award since 2016, the announcement said.
“Maintaining extremely high standards for excellence and exceeding Forbes’ rating criteria for eight consecutive years is a testament to Turning Stone’s commitment to always evolve and provide superior guest experience,” ONE officials said.
Only properties that meet Forbes’ extremely high hospitality standards — the most stringent in the industry — are able to achieve a Four Star rating, which has established a global benchmark for luxury travel. Forbes touts all four of Turning Stone’s Four-Star rated venues as “exceptional properties that offer high levels of service and superior quality of facility to match.”
“It is an honor to have Forbes Travel Guide recognize Turning Stone as being among the best properties in the world and to be distinguished in a class of our own,” said Ray Halbritter, Oneida Indian Nation Representative, and Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO. “As Turning Stone approaches its 30th anniversary, this recognition further reinforces that we are at the top of our game and only getting better.”
“Travel is in an incredible position for continued growth, as people prioritize authentic, in-person experiences,” said Amanda Frasier, President of Ratings for Forbes Travel Guide. “The hotels, ocean cruises, restaurants, and spas on our 2023 Star Rating list demonstrate an impressive commitment to creating memorable environments that nurture connection, joy, and sense of place as we experience the world to its fullest.”
Turning Stone has recently made several multi-million dollar investments in its evolution, particularly at The Lodge, including The Lodge Lounge, a new Boardroom, and completely remodeled guest rooms that will be completed in Summer 2023.
Turning Stone also announced last year its largest evolution in 20 years that will include a brand new convention center, a 250-room hotel, additional dining options, and outdoor spaces.
