Tu Casa Restaurant celebrates grand opening

YORKVILLE — A new restaurant has joined the many businesses along Oriskany Boulevard in Yorkville.

Tu Casa Restaurant, 700 Oriskany Blvd., Yorkville, celebrated its grand opening surrounded by family members, employees, local officials and members of the community.

The restaurant is a second location for the owners Amarilys Espinal and Reyna De La Cryzy, as they also run Mi Casa Restaurant, 1315 Genesee St., Utica.

Tu Casa Restaurant, like Mi Casa Restaurant, is a Dominican restaurant that offers Latin cuisine, such as stewed meats, plantains, seafood, paella and Spanish rice and beans. Employees of the new restaurant describe the establishment as “a piece of the Caribbean in a corner of Yorkville.”

“We are very excited to be introducing the ‘sister,’ as we say at Mi Casa Restaurant, Tu Casa Restaurant,” said Joanna Rodriguez, manager of both restaurant locations. “We can not wait to begin this new journey at Yorkville.”

Tu Casa Restaurant offers dine in, delivery as well as prepared foods available to take out. The restaurant has three dining rooms, outdoor seating and offers catering opportunities and the ability to rent the premises for events and meetings.

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon, D-119, Marcy, was one of the people in attendance to celebrate the grand opening and to attest to the quality of food the restaurant owners offer.

“My family and I have had wonderful, wonderful meals with your sister restaurant and we look forward to coming here,” Buttenschon said.

“Anyone that is listening will never be disappointed, as the food, as well as the warm welcome and hospitality as you see surrounding me, is a family and it’s a beautiful family that has always been welcoming and heartwarming,” she added.

Tu Casa Restaurant is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed Sundays.
