Trio of area athletes place in top 10 at state indoor track meet
STATEN ISLAND — Three local athletes earned top-10 finishes at the state indoor track and field championships at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island on Saturday.
Rome Free Academy junior Imani Pugh placed sixth in the girls 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.69 seconds and was eighth in the high jump with a height of five feet, three inches.
Pugh will conclude her season by competing at New Balance Nationals in Boston this Saturday in the high jump.
Collin Stafford, a South Lewis junior, finished eighth in the boys 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:18.66.
Sauquoit Valley sophomore Addison Lazarek was eighth in the girls triple jump with 36 feet, eight inches.
