UTICA — Three people were taken into custody for weapons possession in Utica Thursday night, according to city law enforcement
Police said they were assisting other agencies with checking on people in the city under Parole supervision and they approached a vehicle with three occupants at about 9:45 p.m. While speaking with the occupants, police said they spotted the grip of a handgun sticking out from under the front passenger seat.
The weapon was retrieved and was found to be loaded, authorities stated.
Shimeek Loadholt, 22, Daquon Holmes, 25, and Amere Gosier, 24, are all charged with one count each of second-degree possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, police stated.
Holmes is additionally charged with one count of third-degree possession of a weapon.
All three are scheduled to appear in City Court, the law enforcement officials added.
