Mohawk Valley Community College is partnering with Clear Path for Veterans to offer free environmental remediation training for veterans on March 27-28 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clear Path for Veterans’ Chittenango site at 1223 Salt Springs Road.

The class, through a grant from the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, is designed to provide critical certification and training to improve employability, said MVCC. Interested individuals must provide proof of veteran status.

The 10-hour class involves Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training for workers on new construction sites, demolition jobs, and major renovation projects. It includes basic safety and health hazards associated with construction work, and an overview of OSHA and hazard-specific awareness.

Materials for the class will be provided. Interested veterans can contact Terésa Fava-Schram, coordinator of Workforce Development at MVCC, at 315-792-5681 to request an application and reserve a spot in the class.
