Trail Blazers split twin bill with the DiamondDawgs


LITTLE FALLS — The Adirondack Trail Blazers split a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League doubleheader with the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs, losing game one 9-8 and winning game two 6-3 at Veterans Memorial Park on Thursday.

John Hardy took the loss for the Trail Blazers, giving up six runs, none earned, on six hits in seven innings. He also issued one walk and six strikeouts.

Robert Zurawski homered and drove in three runs. John Michael Boswell doubled and Jordan Torrento had a triple in the loss.

Holland Patent graduate and Siena College freshman Nico Ramos went 1-for-2 with a run scored for the DiamondDawgs in the first game.

In the second game, Bay McIntosh went 4-for-4, including three doubles and two RBIs. Joe Simone and Justin Smith also drove in a run each.

Zac Bygum earned the win for Adirondack, giving up one run on three hits in three innings.

Adirondack improves to a 15-29 record with the split. They return to action tonight as they head to Amsterdam for a 6:35 start.
