Trail Blazers’ ninth-inning rally falls short in road loss


SAUGERTIES — The Adirondack Trail Blazers scored four runs in the ninth but came up short, 6-4, against the Saugerties Stallions in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League matchup on Thursday night.

Kyle Cashman took the loss on the mound for the Trail Blazers, giving up five runs, three earned, on seven hits while issuing three walks and striking out three.

At the dish, Robert Zurawski and Matt Codispoti doubled while Bret Huebner tripled for Adirondack. Huebner also picked up two RBIs for the Trail Blazers while Codispoti drove in one. Joe Simone had the last RBI for Adirondack.

The Trail Blazers fall to 6-9 on the season and host the Utica Blue Sox for a doubleheader tonight starting at 5:05.
