Trail Blazers go down to pair of Perfect Game Baseball League losses


BOONVILLE — The Adirondack Trail Blazers dropped a Perfect Game Collegiate League doubleheader to Geneva on Friday, losing the first game 9-6 and falling in the second game 18-5.

In the opener, Joe Simone doubled and homered for the Trail Blazers, finishing the game 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Chuck Hooker turned in a 2-for-4 day for Adirondack while Jordan Torrento, Zach Zschering, Matt Codispoti and Hayden Rapporport all had RBIs in the loss.

Jake Walker took the loss on the mound.

Walker worked five innings, giving up seven runs on nine hits while walking one and striking out four.

In Game 2, Simone had two more RBIs, bringing his two game total to five. Riley Schaefer hit a solo homer for the Trail Blazers.

John Hardy took the loss on the mound for Adirondack, lasting four innings, giving up 10 runs on 12 hits and recording one strike out.

Adirondack is 13-26 on the season and next plays tonight on the road against the Newark Pilots at 7:05.
