TOWN OF SCHUYLER — Two people have been charged with drug possession following a traffic stop in Herkimer County Monday. State police said Tiffany S. McConn, 38, of Sauquoit, and Andrew W. Thornton, 37, of Utica, were taken into custody on Route 5 in Schuyler at about 5:30 p.m. Monday. Troopers said both were found with narcotics.

McConn is charged with one count of fourth-degree possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony, troopers said. She was released after posting cash bail. Troopers said Thornton was released on an appearance ticket on one count each of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and a seat belt violation.

Both are scheduled to appear in Town Court.
