Traffic stop leads to drug charges

TOWN OF WATSON — A Lewis County man was found with a quantity of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Tuesday, according to law enforcement officials.

Sheriff’s deputies said Brett M. Wadsworth, 24, of Lyons Falls, was pulled over for a traffic violation on North Chases Lake Road on Tuesday. Once stopped, deputies said Wadsworth was found to be driving on a suspended license, and he was found with quantities of marijuana and meth in his vehicle.

Wadsworth is charged with one count each of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree use of drug paraphernalia, third-degree unlicensed operation and other vehicle and traffic tickets, authorities said.

He is scheduled to appear in Town Court.
