ROME — A traditional Irish music session with Craobh Dugan O’Looney, the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, will take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Copper City Brewery, located at 1111 Oneida St.

The session is free and open to the public, as well as musicians who are interested in playing Irish traditional music and play instruments such as fiddle, whistle, flute, accordion, mandolin, and tenor banjo.

Spectators are encouraged to come and listen and enjoy an evening of traditional music.  Sessions have a long history in Irish traditional music, going back over 75 years. They are usually held in public houses (pubs) and have a format that includes musicians playing sets of standard Irish tunes in the traditional manner. Singers are usually present as well and songs are generally presented acapella.

For more information go online to uticairish.org. New members are welcome to join the group and one does not have to be a musician to become a member.
