TOWN OF WESTERN — A 33-year-old woman was charged with felonies after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a knife during a domestic dispute Thursday night.

Oneida County Sheriff's Inv. Richard Stanek said Kira Stolo was taken into custody at 3 p.m. Friday by members of the Criminal Investigations Unit and Road Patrol.

An investigation revealed around 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Stolo was involved in an argument with her boyfriend that turned physical when she allegedly stabbed him with a knife, Stanek said.

Stolo fled the scene prior to deputies' arrival. The victim suffered injuries to his leg and was transported by ambulance to Rome Health for treatment. His wounds were not considered to be life-threatening, Stanek said.

When taken into custody by deputies on Friday, Stolo was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both class D felonies. She was held in county jail to await arraignment in Oneida County CAP Court.
