Town assessor accused of spying on co-workers
WEBB — The Town of Webb assessor, Justin D. Masters, has been charged with eavesdropping on his co-workers without permission, according to the New York State Police.
Troopers said Masters, the appointed town assessor, placed a hidden camera in the Town of Webb offices to record town employees. The authorities were notified on Dec. 16, leading to an investigation.
Masters was charged on Friday with one count of eavesdropping, a class E felony, troopers said. He was released on an appearance ticket for Webb Town Court on Feb. 14.
According to Town of Webb officials on Wednesday, Masters remains in his position as assessor. Town officials declined to comment further on the case.
