OLD FORGE — Due to popular demand after last year’s sold-out show, John Lloyd Young, a Tony and Grammy Award winner, is back performing once again at View, in Mostly Soul: Beloved hits from Motown to Broadway. The show is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. Young will perform the greatest hits of Little Anthony, The Platters, Sam Cooke, Smokey, Luther and some Jersey Boys.

Young originated the role of Frankie Valli in “Jersey Boys,” Broadway’s Tony Award Winning Best Musical. Young went on to win the Lead Actor Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards, becoming the only American actor to win all four leading actor awards for a Broadway debut.

Young sings lead vocals on the Platinum, Grammy Award-winning “Jersey Boys” original cast album. He made his West End debut playing the same role at London’s Piccadilly Theatre. Young recreated his award-winning Broadway turn on screen for director Clint Eastwood in Warner Brothers’ film adaptation of “Jersey Boys,” which premiered in 2014.

He has played to sold-out crowds of 17,000 plus as Marius in Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl and he has appeared at Carnegie Hall, the White House, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the U.S. Congress, Lincoln Center, New Year’s Eve in Times Square, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and more.

He is a member of the Artists Committee for the annual Kennedy Center Honors and a former presidentially appointed member of Barack Obama’s President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities.

Tickets are $50 for View members or $65 for non-members and can be purchased by calling 315-369-6411, ext. 201 or online at www.ViewArts.org. View is located at 3273 State Route 28, Old Forge.
