Tickets go on sale for Rome Policeman’s Ball

Tickets are now available for the 5th annual Rome Policeman’s Ball, to be held at Teugega Country Club on Friday, May 31.

All proceeds of the Ball go towards the department’s Shop with a Cop holiday charity at the end of the year.

Ticket prices have been lowered this year to $60 per person. The event has also been redesigned as semi-formal or cocktail attire. The Ball will run from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. May 31.

“It’s a nice event for everybody to get together and show their support for our Shop with a Cop program,” said Police Chief Kevin C. Beach.

“It’s one of the few times our staff can get together with our sponsors to show our support.”

The event is a chance to interact with city police officers, business owners and other local dignitaries, according to officials. It will include a premium open bar, appetizers, dinner and desserts. A DJ will be on hand to provide music. The police department will also present a display of old and new police equipment, as well as a series of vintage department photographs.

Proceeds from the Ball will go to the department’s Shop with a Cop charity. At Christmastime, the officers join up with 100 needy children to take them on a shopping spree at Walmart.

For ticket information, or to help sponsor the event, contact Sgt. Sharon Rood at 315-339-7714.
