CANASTOTA — The Central New York Lyme and Tick Borne Disease Alliance will present a “Tick Talk” by Merlin Marrain, educational coordinator from the Central New York Lyme and Tick Borne Disease Alliance, for individuals of all ages on Monday, July 19, 1 p.m. at the Great Swamp Conservancy, 8375 N. Main St.
The event is free to attend, and participants will receive information about lyme disease, which some health experts say is fast becoming an epidemic in Central New York.
Those in attendance will learn about what ticks are, what to do when you find one and the effects they have on the body after.
Preventative measures to help avoid tick bites will also be discussed.
No registration is necessary. For information about the ‘Tick Talk’ program, call 315-697-2950 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
