Thrift shop in Holland Patent set for August reopening

HOLLAND PATENT — The Country Corner Thrift Shop at Foothills in Holland Patent is set to re-open its doors on Saturday, Aug. 1. The shop will be open the first three Saturdays and fourth Thursday of every month, year-round. It is located at the First Presbyterian Church House off of Route 365.

All shoppers and staff must wear masks, and hand sanitizer will be available.

“We will be limiting the number of visitors who enter the shop at any one time, and we will insist on social distancing, for the safety of all,” shop officials said in their reopening announcement. The Country Corner has been closed since mid-March, officials said, adding that they have “missed our regular customers, as well as the new folks we couldn’t meet!”

“As one of the many programs at Foothills Rural Community Ministry, our shop offers a large selection of gently-used clothing, house wares, toys, books, jewelry, gadgets and goodies for all ages,” officials said. “Prices are rock-bottom, and we continue to offer our bag sale on Saturdays.”

“Donations have continued to pour in during the past 3 months, so the shop is bursting with inventory,” they said, adding that “whether you are a family in need, or simply love a great bargain, stop in and see us.”
