TOWN OF CROGHAN — Accused of shooting two people with a BB gun and later making threatening calls to the Lewis County District Attorney’s Office, a 44-year-old man is facing multiple charges, according to law enforcement officials.
The two people he is accused of shooting have also been charged for breaking into his apartment, authorities stated.
Sheriff’s deputies said Derek Farr, 44, of Croghan, was engaged in a text message dispute at about 9:30 p.m. July 15 with James Noftsier, 53, and Kelly Garrison, 37, both of Croghan.
Deputies said Noftsier and Garrison later went to Farr’s apartment on Erie Canal Road and entered without permission.
When the pair eventually left, deputies said Farr shot them both with a BB pistol.
Also beginning in July, deputies said Farr made numerous threatening and harassing telephone calls to the Lewis County District Attorney’s Office.
Farr was taken into custody on Monday on one count of third-degree possession of a weapon and three counts of second-degree aggravated harassment, authorities stated.
Noftsier and Garrison were both taken into custody on Wednesday on one count each of second-degree burglary, deputies said.
All three are scheduled to appear in court.
