Thomas A. Salamonowicz, 71, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Rome. He was born in Rome on November 2, 1946, the son of the late Charles and Frances Williams Salamonowicz. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and he was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
Tom worked several years for Greensboro Pipe in Greensboro, NC.
He was a member of the Ukrainian Club in Rome.
Tom is survived by two daughters, Patricia Salamonowicz of Boonville, Ursula Salamonowicz of Germany and her mother, Karen Oboth; a son, Thomas (Hope) Salamonowicz of Schenectady; a sister, Wanda Ronish of Palm Coast, FL; a brother, Charles (Nancy) Salamonowicz of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; and 2 nieces. He was predeceased by his very special companion, Gayle “Lori” Zdziebko.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Graveside services will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to the ASPCA.
