The wonderful United Way of Rome and Western Oneida County needs all of you who have contributed to the health of Rome and the surrounding area to step up at 6 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2019, to complete the job.
The meeting of all donors and recipients will be held at the newly completed Rome Campus Dining and Community Hall of Mohawk Valley Community College, 1101 Floyd Ave, in Rome.
Your vote is necessary to approve 1) dissolution of the organization and 2) distribution of the remaining assets of the Rome UW.
United Way services 1) will continue in a different form in a much more cost effective way, and 2) the remaining assets will be conserved and allocated according to guidelines that benefit Rome and the surrounding area.
Staying away will not help. A majority of the members — you — must be present either in person or by proxy, and two-thirds must vote in favor of the plan. We wish it were easier to complete this properly, but it is not.
Rome Campus, MVCC, Floyd Ave, June 3rd, 6 p.m. See you there.
