Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, R-22, New Hartford, recently welcomed the Under Secretary for the Air Force, Gina Ortiz Jones, for a tour of the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, also known as Rome Lab.
“Their tour included an in-depth look at the cutting-edge research being conducted at Rome Lab, including an overview of the advanced research and development in quantum as well as in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and unmanned traffic systems. Rome Lab was recently designated as the Quantum Information Science Research Center for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force, a critical development for the Lab and our region,” a release from Tenney’s office details.
In addition to Rome Lab, Jones also visited the Eastern Air Defense Sector, which
is headquartered in Rome, and is responsible for protecting portions of our national airspace.
