NEW HARTFORD — Rep. Claudia L. Tenney’s campaign for reelection in New York’s 22nd Congressional District has announced it has raised more than $370,000 in the fourth quarter of 2021, bringing the campaign’s war chest to more than $1,150,000 cash on hand for the 2022 elections.

Tenney said the fourth-quarter funds came from more than 3,200 donors, including more than 1,600 new donors.

The coming year will see “a red wave in upstate New York,” Tenney said. “Our grassroots campaign has incredible momentum from all across New York State. Our strong record of standing up for the Second Amendment, fighting to hold the Biden Administration accountable and pushing back against authoritarian vaccine mandates has propelled us into the election year ready to steamroll any of Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked Democrat challengers.”

“Democrats in Albany and Washington are failing New Yorkers, and we are fed up,” Tenney said. “I will continue fighting for our small business, supporting our enforcement officers and working to put the taxpayers first.”

Tenney’s challenger, Josh Riley, the Democratic congressional candidate, has announced that his campaign has raised more than $416,000 in its first two months.

“At a time when the country is so divided and our politics so dysfunctional, this campaign is focused instead on bringing people together to find common ground on issues that matter: revitalizing and strengthening the economy in Upstate New York and creating new jobs and opportunities for all, particularly in communities that have been left behind,” Riley said in a statement last week.

“Throughout history, Upstate New Yorkers have built things to address some of the nation’s biggest challenges. With today’s supply chain shortages to confront, there’s no question that this is a big moment — full of challenges but also opportunities — and I am hopeful because I know that Upstate New York can rise to meet the moment again.”

Riley added that his “grassroots campaign: has not accepted “a penny from corporate PACs (political action committees).”
