UTICA — A Utica teenager is accused of opening fire on two people from his bicycle on Saratoga Street, according to the Utica Police Department. No one was shot or injured.

Police said the 17-year-old male was pedaling a bicycle northbound in the 900 block of Saratoga St. at about 6 p.m. Tuesday when he opened fire at two individuals who were walking ahead of him. Police said the bullets did not hit any people.

Several spent bullet casings and one live round were found at the scene.

The teen, whose identity was not released due to his young age, fled on the bicycle. Police said they checked security camera footage from the area and were able to identify the teen.

On Thursday, the youth was found in the city and was taken into custody. He is charged with one count each of first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree possession of a weapon, authorities stated. The teen is scheduled to appear in court.
