YORKVILLE — A Utica teenager is accused of sexually abusing two underage teen girls in separate incidents, according to law enforcement officials.
The county Child Advocacy Center said they were notified on May 12 by the Yorkville Police Department about an investigation involving an 18-year-old man having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl. The CAC began to investigate and determined that the relationship occurred in Yorkville in December 2019.
Upon further investigation, CAC officials said they uncovered a second incident involving a 12-year-old girl in Yorkville in February 2019, when the male suspect was age 17. The identity of the suspect was not released due to his young age.
Authorities said the male, now age 19, from Utica, was taken into custody on July 6. Authorities said he is charged with one count each of second-degree criminal sexual act, a class D felony, and second-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor.
He is scheduled to appear in court.
