FRANKFORT — A middle school teacher previously charged with setting up a secret camera at his school in Albany County is now facing additional charges in Herkimer County, according to the New York State Police.

The Colonie Police Department said Patrick F. Morgan, 57, of Frankfort, set up a hidden camera in a co-ed employee bathroom at Sand Creek Middle School and filmed multiple faculty members in various states of undress.

Police said Morgan was taken into custody in mid-February on a charge of second-degree unlawful surveillance, a felony.

State police said the investigation continued after Morgan was taken into custody and several more victims were developed in Herkimer County, people whom Morgan also secretly recorded. Troopers said no schools or businesses are implicated with these new victims, all of whom have asked to remain anonymous.

Morgan was taken into custody on Monday on 11 additional counts of felony unlawful surveillance and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, troopers said. Morgan was arraigned in court and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to reappear in courts in both Herkimer and Albany counties.
