Take Back the Night rally at Herkimer College on Thursday
HERKIMER — A Take Back the Night rally and march will take place at Herkimer College on Thursday night, according to the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley.
The event will take place at 6 p.m. at the Robert McLaughlin Community Center on the Herkimer College campus at 100 Reservoir Road. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The rally is free and open to the public.
YWCA CEO Dianne Stancato will open the rally with a speech about the impact of sexual violence and child abuse in the Mohawk Valley, officials said. YWCA advocates will then lead a march around campus. The evening will end with a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of those lost to and affected by sexual violence and child abuse.
