Syracuse again part of 2K Classic field


SYRACUSE — The Syracuse University men’s basketball team will participate in the 2K Classic for the sixth time in the program history in the upcoming season.

The Orange will host Eastern Washington on Nov. 6 inside the Carrier Dome and on Nov. 10, Syracuse will play host to Morehead State. Game times have not yet been announced.

Also part of the 2K Classic will be Connecticut, Iowa and Oregon. The Orange will play UConn on Thursday, Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden, and the winner will play the winner of the Iowa-Oregon matchup in the championship game the following night. The losers will play in the consolation game before the final. This season will mark the third straight season the the Orange and the Huskies have met in the Garden.

In other games announced on the schedule, Syracuse will also host Cornell on Dec. 1, Old Dominion on Dec. 15 and on Dec. 18, the Orange will host Buffalo.

SU women to play Minnesota

Syracuse also announced that the women’s basketball team is set to take a visit to Minnesota on Thursday, Nov. 29 for the ACC/Big 10 Women’s Basketball Challenge.

This season’s meeting will be the first between the two schools and both made the NCAA Tournament last season.

Since joining the ACC, Syracuse is 3-2 in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge.
