Suspect sought for puncturing tires

CITY OF ONEIDA — A series of punctured tires is under investigation in the City of Oneida.

Place said a Black or Hispanic male was captured on security cameras puncturing a tire on the personal vehicle of a firefighter, parked at the Oneida Fire Department, at about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 26. In the same time frame, police said a tire was punctured on an Oneida Housing Authority work truck, and two tenants at the Brewer Apartments on East Elm Street had tires on their private vehicles punctured as well.

The suspect has a medium to thin build, with a small, curly afro-style hair cut and some facial hair, authorities said. He was wearing camouflage-colored shorts, black sneaks and a light-colored T-shirt with a reflective print on the front.

Video of the suspect is available on the Oneida Police Department’s Facebook page.

Anyone with information of the tire slashings, or who has their own security camera footage from the area, is asked to call police at 315-363-2323.

All calls will be kept confidential.
