MARCY — SUNY Polytechnic Institute's latest rankings for 2020 by U.S. News & World Report have risen in several categories from prior rankings for 2019, the college announced.
SUNY Poly is 12th among "Best Regional Universities-North," up six positions from its 2019 ranking.
In addition, SUNY Poly was ranked second in "Best Value Colleges" for Regional Universities-North, up nine spots from 2019, plus it rose by one position to second in the "Top Public Schools" Regional Universities-North ranking.
Also, SUNY Poly was ranked sixth in "Best Colleges for Veterans," up two spots from the college's 2019 ranking in the Regional Universities-North category. SUNY Poly noted its Marcy campus is in close proximity to the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate in Rome and the U.S. Army's Fort Drum base in Jefferson County, among area military facilities.
The annual rankings by U.S. News & World Report categorize colleges and universities based upon their Carnegie Classification, created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, said SUNY Poly. SUNY Poly is included in the Regional Universities-North category and placed 12th overall among 170 ranked universities.
"SUNY Poly's latest rankings are a testament to our institution's top-tier educational offerings and value, as well as our steadfast dedication to leadership in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and liberal arts fields," said interim President Grace Wang.
