SUNY Poly to host trio of business seminars
MARCY — Three seminars for potential or current business owners are being offered by the Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC), which is on the campus of SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
• A “Start Using QuickBooks for Your Business” seminar will be Jan. 9 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Kunsela Hall, Room B-232 at SUNY Poly.
The hands-on session will cover how to set up QuickBooks for a business and use it to record sales, invoice customers and receive payments. The session will also include an introduction to basic reports available from the software. The class is limited to eight participants, and the fee is $100.
• A “Fund Your Business: Fact vs. Fiction” seminar will be Jan. 17 from 9-11 a.m. at SUNY Poly.
It will include learning about various loan programs, qualifications, sources of financing, and financial projections. The fee is $20.
• A “Small Business Start-Up” workshop will be Jan. 25 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at SUNY Poly. It is geared to help jump-start a new business, including for people who are thinking about starting their own business or have recently opened a new one.
It is taught by SBDC business advisors, offering a comprehensive understanding of business start-up information. The fee is $75.
