“Carrying on the 4th-grade tradition at Bellamy, Samantha Sabia’s class created Longhouse replicas to wrap up their Native Americans in New York Unit.”
This is not just any project, but a family-based project where families help their child at home to create their Longhouse. Students showcase their presentations in front of the class along with a written piece, answer questions from their peers, and even participate in a “living museum” for the whole school to view.
They get more creative and detailed each year. “I am proud of their efforts, hearing and seeing family involvement, and encouraging public speaking and communication.” said Sabia.
