Student-teacher art exhibit opens Friday

The Madison-Oneida BOCES Art Professional Learning Community (PLC) will open its fourth annual “Art: The Common Thread” student-teacher exhibit Friday at the 4 Elements Studio, 730 Broadway in Utica, including an opening reception from 6-7:30 p.m.

The exhibit, featuring artworks by PLC member teachers and selected student artists from their schools, will be up through April 26, according to a BOCES announcement.

The annual showcase, organized by Canastota art teacher and PLC facilitator Kristie Boisen, is a way to highlight members’ dual roles as both working artists and art educators.
