Strategic Financial Services announces new hires

Connor Gaffney, of Utica, has joined the Strategic Financial Services team as a participant in its advisor development program. This program provides an employee with comprehensive exposure to the foundational areas of the company, while also gaining experience and training to become a successful financial advisor.

Gaffney was previously employed at Fiber Instrument Sales.He received his bachelor’s degree at Georgetown University.

Mackenzie Evans also joined Strategic Financial Services as a research and trading analyst on the Investment team. His main duties include executing daily trade requests and portfolio rebalancing. He assists in the designing, building, and managing of factor screens in support of model portfolios. Additionally, he supports the retirement plan business in monitoring and analyzing plan funds. Prior to joining Strategic, Evans was an analyst in Citigroup’s Product Control department where he was a member of the Commodities Valuation team.

Wendy Stevens has joined the Marketing team at SFS to work on printed materials, website updates, social media posts and many other daily and long‐term initiatives. Stevens, who received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State in 2011, is experienced in commercial printing and website content management. She has worked in Information Services at Herkimer College, held a position with Workforce Development as communications coordinator, worked as a financial aid counselor at Utica College and as an executive assistant with Adjusters International before coming to Strategic Financial Services.

She enjoys painting and spending time with family and friends.
