‘StoryWalk’ to mark Screen-Free Week

SHERRILL — A “StoryWalk” event for children and families will be held from April 27-May 5 at Robertson Park in Sherrill during daylight hours, to celebrate National Screen-Free Week.

Screen-Free Week encourages people to take a break from screen-based entertainment like social media and TV and rediscover the joys of life away from screens, according to screenfree.org online.

During the event, families can enjoy reading a children’s book at a local recreation area while being physically active, according to a City of Sherrill announcement.

The featured story will be “The Gruffalo,” by Julia Donaldson.

“Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to work on literacy skills, be physically active, and get lots of fresh air as a family,” the city said.
