Store displays artistic efforts

JCPenney and Rome Free Academy should be applauded for their cooperation in displaying the students’ artistic talents on the Freedom Plaza store’s front windows.

RFA students have again painted the front windows, emphasizing holiday scenes as a fund-raising event, Superintendent Peter C. Blake said.

The public can be involved in this project too because people can vote for their favorite window in the store. The grade level with the winning window will receive a $200 donation from JCPenney. The public can vote in the store through Dec. 15.

The school district is thankful for JCPenney’s support of local education, families and students, Blake said. “Students from each class volunteered their time and creative ability to design the best windows for Rome,” he aded.

With the superintendent, we urge residents to get out and vote for their favorite. Show your support for our young artists.
