Stolen vehicle found and recovered in Oneida
ONEIDA — A 23-year-old man is facing multiple charges after being found with a stolen vehicle in Oneida on Wednesday morning, according to the Oneida Police Department.
Police said an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle on Stone Street on Wednesday that had been reported stolen out of the town of Verona. The officer pulled over the vehicle and the driver was identified as Liam J. ODonnell, who police said was a person of interest in several open theft cases in and around Oneida.
The vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner. Police said ODonnell was taken into custody on one count each of fourth-degree possession of stolen property, circumvention of an ignition interlock device, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and other vehicle and traffic violations, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Oneida City Court.
ODonnell was ticketed on his Oneida charges and was then turned over to the New York State Police for other pending cases, authorities stated.
