STEAM returns to Kirkland Library


CLINTON — Kirkland Town Library, 55 1/2 College St., will host Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics (STEAM) Day with Return of the Egg Drop at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 24.

Participants will drop eggs out of the library tower. The challenge is to keep them from breaking when they reach the ground. Join other participants and library staff to create a structure to keep your egg safe when it falls from the window.

Read Around The Clock

Help the library create a new record by reading three of PBS’s Great American Reads in their entirety on our front lawn. Sign up to read a portion of Charlotte’s WebHarry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and The Martian or join us to listen. Bring a blanket (or a tent to spend the night). Teen Iron Chef

Friday, July 27 at 2 p.m.

Work individually or in a team to create a winning dish. Participants should be entering grades 6-12.

Weekly Story Times

Wigglers for ages 0-2 on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Movers and Shakers for ages 3-5 on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Farmer’s Market Story Time on the Village Green for all ages on Thursdays at 11 a.m.
