Statewide seven-day average COVID-19 positivity rate is 2.46%

Sunday, there were 28 COVID-19-related deaths across the state, and by Monday the statewide seven-day average infection positivity rate was measured at 2.46%, according to informaiton from Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.

There were 247 new positive cases of COVID-19 and five virus-related deaths between Oct. 15 and 17 in Oneida County according to county data reported Monday.

In ongoing messaging for state residents to get vaccinated, Hochul said in a statement, "Many New Yorkers have been vaccinated for COVID-19 and are returning to normal life, but we can't get complacent … We have to get more New Yorkers vaccinated, end the pandemic and revitalize our economy. Lives still hang in the balance, and I'm urging everyone who hasn't gotten a shot yet to consider their friends, families and loved ones and use the vaccine to help end this pandemic for all of us."

The positivity rate for the county was 4.8%.

There were 51 Oneida County residents hospitalized (31 unvaccinated/20 vaccinated) with 25 at Mohawk Valley Health System, 15 at Rome Health and 11 out of the county. The positivity rate for the Mohawk Valley was 5.16%
