Staley Elementary closed due to power outage


Staley Elementary School, 620 E. Bloomfield St., in Rome is closed today, Monday, April 16, because of a power outage.

The school district's website said power was not expected to be back on until late this afternoon. Staff do not need to report.

As of 7:30 this morning, some 4,789 residents in Oneida County were without power, including nearly 500 in east Rome. Power for most of those impacted by the outage were expected to have power restored by 5 p.m. today. In east Rome, primarly between East Dominick and East Bloomfield streets, power was expected to be restored by 12:45 p.m., according to National Grid's Outage Central.
