TOWN OF FLOYD — That jolly old elf St. Nick will make his annual visit to the Floyd Fire Department to meet with local children on Sunday morning, Dec. 2.
Floyd Fire Chief Dan Schwertfeger said Santa Claus has been visiting the fire station on Old Floyd Road for upwards of 30 years, and will provide gifts for the boys and girls who pay him a visit. Floyd firefighters will also be making breakfast, with eggs, sausage, pancakes and the usual fixings.
“It’s not a moneymaker for us, it’s more of a community event for the kids,” Schwertfeger stated. “That’s what it’s all about.”
Santa’s visit will run from 8 a.m. to noon on Dec. 2 at the fire house, the chief said. The cost for breakfast is minimal, he stated. Santa will be available for pictures with the visiting children.
