SYRACUSE — St. Joseph’s Health Home Care will expand into Oneida and Madison counties, the company said in a release Monday.
The expansion will “extend service excellence from the hospital, clinics and physician offices to the home setting, allowing for a safe transition home following a procedure or illness,” according to the release. The company also said that Oneida and Madison counties “are seriously lacking” home care services “in the rural regions.”
“There is an ever-increasing demand for quality homecare services that allow people to recover in the comfort of their own home and prevent re-hospitalizations,” said Michell Eymer, St. Joseph’s director of patient services.
“Our staff is committed to promoting health, managing disease and providing compassionate care to all the patients we serve.”
St. Joseph’s also says that the expansion will bring jobs to the area. The company is already interviewing nurses and will soon begin interviewing for other positions. Job descriptions and applications are available in the career section of St. Joseph’s website, sjhsyr.org.
