WESTMORELAND — Westmoreland Summer Activities Association will present a Spring Fling Family Fun Day in the Westmoreland Town Park, 5027 Stop 7 Road, to raise money for the summer re-opening of the town pool from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8.

The event will include a chicken barbecue, a craft fair, photo booth, a petting zoo, massage therapist, activities for kids including a bounce house, and opportunities to win prizes and bid on basket raffles. Rome Humane Society will also be on site with adoptable pets.

There will also be entertainment provided by the Pride of Westmoreland Marching Band, the Westmoreland Elite Chorus, and country music performer Ty James.

The day will begin with a run organized by the Westmoreland Parent Teacher Organization that will begin at the Westmoreland Central School and end at the town park.

“It will be lots of fun,” said Bambi Patterson, Westmoreland PTO president. “There will be vendors, crafters, lots of food, music, and lots to do for kids. Just a great day to hang out.”

All proceeds from the event will help operate the pool which will have its grand opening on Saturday, June 22.

About the Westmoreland Town Pool

In 2015, Scott Tarkowski founded the Westmoreland Summer Activities Association commonly known as the Westmoreland Pool Committee, a non-profit organization that has raised the money needed to reopen and operate Westmoreland’s town pool.

The late Anna Kunz, one of the Westmoreland Town Pool’s original founders, dedicated her life to its upkeep and the people it served.
