Spring break activities offered at WonderWorks

SYRACUSE — Spring break vacation for many in the Syracuse area is April 11-15, giving families a chance to take a breather and make some memories, and WonderWorks Syracuse is hosting events to help families have fun and keep the learning going.

“We’re getting ready for a great spring break. We have a lot of fun and engaging attractions that will keep the kids learning without them even knowing,” said Jon Cascella, general manager for WonderWorks Syracuse. “Everything from the principles of pressure to simple machines to temperature, we cover a wide variety of topics in the most exciting way.”

No matter what weather the week dishes up, fun can still be had at WonderWorks Syracuse. There are more than 100 hands-on attractions for kids of all ages.

Almost everything in the facility relates to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), which means kids are still learning even though they are having a fun time doing it. Children get a chance to let their imagination run wild, passing through an inversion tunnel, experiencing the Extreme Weather Zone, and visiting the Imagination Lab, which offers an interactive sandbox, hands-on gears and more.

Fans of space exploration can learn more about the topic by taking the astronaut training challenge or climbing into the Mercury capsule. The whole family can learn about light and sound by watching their shadows dance and playing a giant piano with their feet.

Families can conquer physical challenges, including lying on a bed of nails, completing different obstacles on the ropes course, creating bubbles the size of basketballs, riding an Xtreme 360 bike, and much more. Art lovers will enjoy strolling through the Illusion Art Gallery as well as the New York Youth Art Gallery to see work created by local artists. WonderWorks also features an indoor, 70-foot-tall suspended ropes course, laser tag, a 4D XD motion theater, the Wonder Zones, and more.

WonderWorks Syracuse offers a variety of educational programs and promotions for local students and families to enjoy. It also offers group rates, scouting programs, sensory days, homeschool days, and corporate events.
