Sports in brief: Fundraiser set to help Whitesboro baseball; Utica Curling Club Golf Tournament slated

UTICA — The Whitesboro Baseball Boosters has set a fundraiser dinner for 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday.

The dinner is at the Polish Community Club, 810 Columbia St., Utica.

Pierogis, kielbasa, golabki, kapusta, potato pancakes and mushroom stew will be offered as part of the fundraiser.

The fundraiser is eat in or take out. Call 315-732-0089 for orders.

There will also be raffles donated by area businesses.

Utica Curling Club Golf Tournament slated

FRANKFORT — The 15th annual Utica Curling Club Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 4, at the Pine Hills Golf Club, Jones Road.

An application form is available on the UCC website. Registration starts at 10 a.m., lunch at 11 and tee off at noon with a Captain and Crew format. The entry fee is $400 per team which includes greens fees, cart, lunch, dinner, player packet, beer and soda on the course. Categories include Men, Women, Mixed and Seniors (60 and over). Non-golfers may also attend for dinner and drinks for $25.

Checks should be made payable to the Utica Curling Club and with completed registration form sent to Beth Pappalardo, 1 Cortland Lane, Whitesboro, NY 13492. Teams are assured entry if full entry fee is received by May 15. After May 15, it’s first come first served until full or May 26.
