UTICA — A Drive, Chip and Putt golf event is planned by the Greater Utica Sports Hall of Fame and City of Utica Youth Bureau for Friday, July 29, in Utica.

The free event is for children 7 years old to 15 years old. The event is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Registration will be at at Parkway Recreation Center from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be no registration the day of the event. Each participant will get a free polo shirt and cap.

There will be boys and girls divisions. Groups will be split by age: 7 to 9 years old, 10 to 12 years old and 13 to 15 years old.

Each participant will get two shots during the drive, chip and putt events. Top players in each division will go to final rounds. Trophies will be given to all first-place winners.

There will be refreshments, hot dogs, hamburgers and granola bars.

Utica-Notre Dame High School grad and professional golfer Moira Dunn will be a speaker at the event.
