Informational session for new football officials

NEW HARTFORD — The Mohawk Valley Chapter of Certified Football Officials is in need of officials for the upcoming high school season. There will be an informational session for new officials on Aug. 20.

It will take place at 6 p.m. in the New Hartford High School library. For further information, contact Steve Campbell at 315-765-9909.

Closinskis win doubles bocce tourney

A 20-team doubles tournament was held this weekend at the Toccolana Club to raise money for the Clinton girls varsity hockey team. The team of Jerry and Cathy Closinski went undefeated to take the title.

They defeated Greg Puccio and Tracey Rosa in the final. Val Mezza and Steve Cain finished third while Roger and Irene Panara took fourth. John Rodriguez and Michelle Stagner finished fifth and Shaun Anson and Gail Cortese rounded out the prize winners.

Next up at the Toccolana Club is the Mens Super Singles tournament. It will be held on Aug. 17 and sign up is still available.
