SARATOGA — Phantom Smoke, which has ownership from the Utica-Rome area, earned a victory recently at Saratoga Race Course.

The 4-year-old New York-bred horse, which is trained by Christophe Clement and ridden by Irad Ortiz, went gate-to-wire to win Sunday in the NYB allowance race with a purse of $100,000 by two lengths to increase his earnings to over $250,000.

The horse is part of East Point Stables with local owners in Whitesboro’s Al Zumpano and Mark Daviau and New Hartford’s Mike Skaradek, Chris Max and Ken Murphy.
